Obituary of Charlene Ann Gould

Charlene Ann (Albert) Gould, 67, of Auburn, Washington, passed away unexpectedly, with her family by her side, on Friday, September 19, 2014. She was born to Joseph G. Albert and Charlotte Mary (Froland) Albert on May 20, 1947 in Portland, Oregon. Following her graduation from Holy Rosary in West Seattle, Class of 1965, she worked and resided in the Seattle area. Charlene met the love of her life, William Joseph Gould (Joe) in 1968. They were joined in marriage in March of 1971. Charlene joined Joe at Burlington Northern Railroad as a billing clerk until they started their family. In 1978, they followed their dream and built a home on ten acres of land in Auburn, Washington where they resided for thirty-six years while raising their five children. After nineteen years as a dedicated para-educator for the Sumner School District, Charlene retired in 2007. Upon retirement, Charlene and Joe enjoyed many adventures while traveling in their RV across the country. Charlene’s passion was her family. As a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, she gave of herself unconditionally. Her laughter, free spirit, love for life, and kind soul will be missed. Charlene is survived by her husband, William Joseph Gould (Joe), children; Jessica Hilburn (Jeffery), Sara Farthing (Kenneth), Rachael Mattioli (Steven), Nathan Gould and Rebecca Earl (Joshua); seven grandsons, two granddaughters, and sister; Marilyn Sheen (Robert). She cherished the close relationship she maintained with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Charlotte Mary Albert and sister, Jolene Wintersteen. Family and friends are invited to join in a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at All Saints Catholic Church, 204 6th Avenue S.W. Puyallup, WA 98372. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy ( www.parentprojectmd.org ) in honor of Charlene’s great-nephews, Joshua and Luke Jensen.
