Obituary of Kathleen Ann Overman

Kathleen “Katie/Kate” Ann Overman, 64, of Pasco, WA entered the gates of heaven Sunday, December 6, 2020 in Seattle, WA at Harborview Medical Center due to complications related to a recent brain surgery. At the time of her death, she was surrounded in love, with her hands held by her children and husband. She was born on January 27, 1956 in Pasco, Washington, the daughter of Dr. John Ernest Overman and Dorothy June (McAuliffe) Overman. She attended Pasco High School and went on to get her teaching degree at Washington State University. She later graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pacific Lutheran University with a Master of Arts degree. Kate was a beloved wife, mother, sister, favorite auntie, teacher, PEO Sister, and friend. She was loved deeply and widely by those lucky enough to know her. After college Kate lived in Lake Tapps, WA where she raised her family and taught hundreds of children at Lake Tapps Elementary School. She later moved back to her hometown of Pasco, WA and retired. Kate spent her life giving to others. She found peace and joy in serving, educating, and loving people. She was a natural caretaker who was very spiritually connected to god. Kate was the keeper of many lost souls as she guided them on a path to a better life. Kate will be remembered as a beautiful spirit who loved others unconditionally. Kate is survived by her husband Wright Fujikawa (they wed 12/13/12), her children; daughter Stephanie Glenisky and husband Jamie of Lake Tapps, WA, son Luke Swift and wife Ashley of Lake Tapps, WA, and sister Kerry McAuliffe of Coeur d’Alene, ID. Kate loved her five grandchildren, “bunches and bunches:” Gracen, Waylon, Eva, Eli, and Bennett. She was proceeded in death by her son Ryan, her parents John and Dorothy, and her brother Dennis Overman. In proud Irish spirit may she leave you with a blessing. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again may god hold you in the palm of His hand. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in her memory: Donation checks can be made out to Kate Overman Memorial Scholarship.
